Wind Development Services
Terra-Gen is actively developing wind energy projects, with an emphasis on the west and mid-west regions of the United States. We have a significant development effort underway in Tehachapi, California involving up to 3100 MW’s of wind energy, with the first 1500 MW’s committed to Southern California Edison under a long-term PPA. Terra-Gen is also working on greenfield wind energy projects in a variety of other states, as well as acquisitions of wind development efforts from smaller developers.Solar Development Services
Terra-Gen shares ownership in the largest operating solar thermal projects in the world – SEGS VIII (80 MW’s) and IX (80 MW’s). With a near term emphasis on solar trough technologies, and a longer term commitment to thermal storage technologies and utility scale photo-voltaic projects, Terra-Gen is actively developing solar thermal projects in the southwestern U.S. Our ownership of operating solar thermal projects in the U.S. provides Terra-Gen with significant credibility with regard to our potential stakeholders (offtakers, landowners, water providers, regulatory authorities, etc.), as well as the infrastructure financing community – again, we have a demonstrated commitment and financial capability to bring projects to completion, and an emphasis on building projects rather than selling dreams.Geothermal Development Services
Terra-Gen is one of the largest geothermal energy companies in the U.S., and we have active development efforts underway in the western region, with an emphasis on larger geothermal opportunities (> 20 MW’s). Terra-Gen has assembled a renowned geothermal development team based in our San Diego and Reno development offices, as well as at our operating plants. We are actively acquiring geothermal leases, with a demonstrated commitment and financial capability to actively conduct exploration drilling to develop our lease positions.
