Thermex - Hydraulic Oil Coolers
Hydraulic Oil Coolers have been manufactured by Thermex since 1979, using an established design combining high performance with durability and reliability. Oil coolers can be selected from our standard range which can be seen in our brochure, or our engineers can design the perfect oil cooler for your application from operational data such as inlet temperatures and flow rates.
Thermex - Marine Oil Coolers
Thermex Marine Oil Coolers have been the first choice of coolers for many marine engine and transmission manufacturers for over 30 years. The unique tube stack design manufactured by Thermex helps to prevent build up of sediments and growth from occurring within the tubes whilst minimising erosion. For vessels operating in shallow or brackish water, Thermex can also supply the Marine Oil Coolers fitted with our 70/30 CuNi tube stack or a Titanium tube stack to improve the length of operational service of the Oil Cooler. Our larger 2700 and 2800 series coolers feature leak detection rings as standard which will enable a maintenance engineer to see a leaking O Ring before the oil and water circuits mix. This feature is also available on our 2300 and 2500 series upon request.
Thermex - Gearbox Oil Coolers
Thermex Gearbox Oil Coolers are a high quality alternative to brass tube coolers traditionally used on marine engine gearboxes. The glass filled nylon headers offer a more robust solution than neoprene moulded equivalents and the high-density tube stack provides high performance despite the small size of the cooler.
Thermex - Charge Air Coolers
The function of a Charge Air Cooler is to reduce the temperature of air that has passed through a Turbocharger before it enters the engine, optimising the engine performance. Thermex Charge Air Coolers are liquid cooled tubular designs aimed at use on test beds, marine engines and other static engines including fire water pumps. Their floating tube stack design makes them easy to service and allows for thermal expansion to occur within the heat exchanger housing. Thermex Charge Air Coolers can be used on land based and marine engines, depending on the material selection. Both types are listed on the tables below but please contact us if you are unsure of the best model for you.
Thermex - Manifold Heat Exchangers
Thermex Manifold Heat Exchangers can be supplied as an exhaust gas cooler or they can be combined with a heat exchanger to cool the engine jacket water also. Cooling the exhaust gas on a marine engine allows for a flexible exhaust pipe to be used instead of a rigid pipe which makes installation easier. Bringing the exhaust gas temperature down also reduces the risk of fire on board a marine vessel. Cooling water can be sourced direct from the water upon which the vessel floats on or in the case of a keel-cooled system, the water is contained in a closed loop which is cooled by passing the water through a series of pipes in the vessel`s keel. Thermex Manifold Heat Exchangers, aka "Manicoolers" are manufactured from our unique extruded shells which allows us to supply heat exchangers for a wide range of marine engines from 2 up to 6 cylinders without the cost of new tooling normally associated with new designs.
