Union Connector products

A fused disconnect switch in a steel enclosure, 250V. fuses, and UL Listed cam type outlets. Union Connector manufactures this UL Listed Company Switch using traditional fuses in place of a circuit breaker. Cam outlets are mounted on an aluminum panel at the bottom of the enclosure to eliminate the problems of historesis, as required by the National Electric Code. Fuses are dual-element, time delay Class RK-5. Union also builds a UL Listed Switch similar to the Fused Disconnect Switch, but without the protection of a branch rated fuse. It consists of a safety disconnect switch in a steel enclosure with UL Listed cam type outlets. No connection chamber is provided.

The amount of power available for lighting and audio often allows the installation of multiple Company Switches. A mix of 400A., 200A. and 100A. switches is common practice. In many cases these are placed at various locations around a stage for practical reasons. However, it is also common to mount several Company Switches adjacent to each other in a large matrix of enclosures. Each unit must be installed independently, requiring a conduit run and mounting labor for each switch.

Basic Company Switch with Series 16 Cam-Lok ( 60 Amp ). This UL Listed company switch has the basics for powering portable power distribution loads. It consists of a Type 1 enclosure, main circuit breaker, receptacles and phase indicator lights. The Series 16 cam-lok devices are designed to provide superior service and durability, even under the most severe operating conditions. The Series 16 receptacles are provided with snap back protective covers, and mounted on the receptacle panel at bottom of the enclosure.This switch is perfect as a electric power distribution box for theatres, convention centers, arenas, schools, churches, and events centers.

Company Switch with Series 16 Cam Receptacles and Connection Chamber ( 400 Amp ). This UL Listed company switch has become the standard company switch for powering portable power distribution loads. It consists of a Type 1 enclosure, main circuit breaker, receptacles, a shunt trip protected chamber for direct bus connection and phase indicator lights. A series of grommeted holes for portable cable access to the bus connection chamber are located on the bottom of the enclosure. The Company Switch contains Series 16 Cam receptacles that are color coded, mounted on an internal dead front receptacle panel and provided with snap back protective covers. The series 16 Cam devices are designed to provide superior service and durability, even under the most severe operating conditions.

Company Switch with Series 16 SafeCam® Receptacles and Connection Chamber ( 60 Amp ). This UL Listed company switch has become the standard company switch for powering portable power distribution loads. It consists of a Type 1 enclosure, main circuit breaker, receptacles, a shunt trip protected chamber for direct bus connection and phase indicator lights. A series of grommeted holes for portable cable access to the bus connection chamber is located on the bottom of the enclosure.

Basic Company Switch with Series 16 SafeCam ( 100 Amp ). This UL Listed company switch has the basics for powering portable power distribution loads. It consists of a Type 1 enclosure, main circuit breaker, receptacles and phase indicator lights. Series 16 SafeCam® receptacles mate with standard Series 16 Cam devices. The SafeCam® System monitors the receptacles, preventing the main circuit breaker from being closed if there is an exposed receptacle. It automatically opens the main circuit breaker if a plug is removed under load. Series 16 SafeCam® receptacles are rated for 400 Amps, color coded, and mounted on the receptacle panel at bottom of the enclosure. The combination of the Series 16 SafeCam® receptacles and the SafeCam® system reduce the risk of injury and liability making them perfect for electric power distribution in locations such as theatre, convention centers, arenas, schools, churches, and events centers where the general public may be present.

Union Connector custom builds several different types of UL Listed patch panels. The complexity of these patch panels can range from simple steel enclosures with outlets, to modular units with outlets, pigtails, circuit breakers and switches. The most important distinction between patch panel types is whether or not circuit breakers must be provided in the panel.
