Geothermal Power Services

Verkís has considerable knowledge and experience in the field of geothermal power and has been involved in preparation, design and installation of almost all geothermal power plants in Iceland since the begining of the geothermal energy industry expansion in the 1970‘s. Our geothermal experts are internationally after and it is our intention to increase our international activities in the field over the coming years. Geothermal power has, over the last decade, gradually increased its importance as an electrical power source in Iceland. Currently, installed power of geothermal power plants is 575 MW, which translates to 23.4% of total installed power. The total installed power worldwide is about 10 GWe.

Reactive Compensation System Services

Verkís provides consulting in the field of reactive compensation systems, i.e. capacitor banks, harmonics filters, dynamic and static VAR compensator systems (DVC and SVC). Verkís services cover system surveys, design, preparation of tender documents, contracts, purchase, supervision, testing and commissioning.
