Engineering consultancy is provided in close cooperation with the operators and manufacturers.

Generator damages, which occured in the last years made it necessary to compile the corresponding information at the VGB secretariat. The Working Panel “Electrical Equipment” established the Project Group “Generators”, which developed the structure of a data base to collect and evaluate generator damages. At present more than 400 damages have been listed.

Transformer damages, which occured in the last years made it necessary to compile the corresponding information at the VGB secretariat. The Working Panel “Electrical Equipment” established the Project Group “Transformers”, which developed the structure of a data base to collect and evaluate transformer damages.

The necessary need for replacement of older power plants as well as the increase in power consumption in Europe combined with new climate protection requirements led to the planning to build new power plants by many companies.

VGB PowerTech e.V., the European technical association for electricity and heat generation, since its foundation according to its statutes is organizing the exchange of experiences in the energy industry, e.g. to maintain and to improve the operational safety and the environmental protection.
