The EE & RE Exhibition 2015 has put on display a great set of existing energy technologies as it was a starting point for the launch of innovative products. Its aim was to stimulate the development of energy market in South-East Europe through technology transfer. Direct exhibitors from Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands have joined the event. Visitors from 39 counties visited the Exhibition and the parallel events. The products which captivated their interest were energy saving blinds and lighting, biogas installations and technologies, ‘made in Bulgaria’ PV systems which can be applied in dynamic city architecture, as well as in agriculture and road infrastructure, solar thermal system with patented safe-proof sun tracking mechanics, prototype of wind turbine with unique high efficiency, etc. The speaker line up included experts from Euroheat & Power, Thermaflex , EIB, Samson, VNU.
The solar industry enters a new phase of its development and is taking the lead in the global energy mix. According to Mr. Ingmar Wilhelm, president of the European Photovoltaic Association (EPIA) `The important declining costs, the validity of the ecological footprint and new innovative features are creating today`s good climate for investment in PV technology, which is on the way to becoming a fully competitive part of the electricity system in the European Union and an increasingly important part of the world`s energy future`.
The European Commission`s Energy Roadmap 2050 aims a very high share of RES in gross final energy consumption (75% in 2050) and a share of RES in electricity consumption reaching 97%. The `green wave` will not pass South-East Europe - the renewables are in their early stages in this part of the continent. In spite of the delay, this situation creates good opportunities for the investors, equipment and technology providers, utility companies.
