The main task of the BoP-e is to supply the electrical energy from the generator out of the powerhouse into the electrical grid. This power train consists of medium voltage connections, switchgears and step-up transformers to match to the grid. High-voltage switchgears are the interface point between power plant and grid. In addition, numerous electrical energy systems and components are an integral part of the station supply of hydropower plants. The operation of a power plant requires electrical energy, e.g., to run motor-driven equipment like cooling or drainage pumps, cranes and electrical drives of valves.

BoP-m comprises all the mechanical systems and equipment necessary for the continuous reliable and safe operation as well as for service and maintenance of the power plant. Integrated and harmonized design concepts, thorough and perfect design of  the different systems and expertise along the value creation chain ensure the adequate function.

Voith HyCon Control System is offering complete and comprehensive SCADA functionality for all power plant environments, combining Voith´s long-term process know-how and control system expertise to create a hydropower-specific solution. By that we are able to engineer tailor-made solutions for all types and sizes of hydropower plants quickly and cost effectively. The HyCon Control System is a reliable and safe solution for new and modernized projects.

Voith has been developing and manufacturing the core components of turbine governor systems for more than 130 years. Our HyCon Go product family comprises digital and hydraulic turbine governors for outstanding control performance of any kind of turbine. Our goal is to deliver maximum safety, availability, life time, sensitivity and accuracy as well as minimum losses. As of today, over 18,500 complete turbine governors have been delivered and installed by Voith worldwide.

HyCon PowerDuo brings excellence in power generation control as one automation family, combining excitation and digital governor systems. Fully developed by Voith professionals, we offer a complete range of field, for Francis, Kaplan, Bulb and Pelton turbines, in compliance to international standards. It is very easy to integrate to control systems and is also following the standards industrial communication protocols.
