Waga Energy news
In March 2022, Waga Energy commissioned a large capacity WAGABOX unit on a Veolia landfill located in the city of Claye-Souilly, near Paris. It will produce 410,000 mmBtu (120 GWh) of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) per year, equivalent to the consumption of 20,000 households, and will save 25,000 metric tons of CO2eq emission per year, through the substitution of RNG for fossil-based natural gas. The RNG production will be injected directly into the GRDF gas grid.

The first WAGABOX unit was commissioned on February 14, 2017 on a Coved landfill (a Paprec subsidiary) in Saint-Florentin (North France). Waga Energy thus achieved the first biomethane injection by upgrading landfill gas in Europe. This technological achievement marked the success of ten years of R&D within Air Liquide and Waga Energy.
The construction of the WAGABOX unit of Saint-Florentin represented a €3 million investment entirely supported by Waga Energy, thanks to a
