With more than 50 years experience in steam generation systems, we engineer and manufacture a full line of proprietary equipment to burn biomass fuels for the forest products industry. Wellons projects have been completed internationally and include hundreds of successful steam generation systems and involvement in more than 30 cogeneration facilities. Our experience ranges from providing equipment only to total project responsibility.

Wellons has designed, manufactured, and installed hundreds of biomass boiler systems for small applications requiring process steam as well as large systems such as electrical generation and co-generation. ASME certified Package, Panel, and Field-Erected boiler systems of Wellons’ design are available, depending on the capacity, pressure, and steam temperature requirements of the customer. In addition to our engineering and manufacturing capabilities, Wellons also offers installation of our systems in the USA, and technical assistance with installation and commissioning for our international projects.

Wellons has provided over 90 wood-fired energy systems in a variety of sizes and combinations, to suit many different applications. Thermal oil systems for log vat heating, flake and veneer dryers, press platen heating, and dry kilns have been supplied in a variety of sizes and configurations.

Systems, based on the proven Wellons cell furnace, are available with ratings up to 250 MM BTU/Hr gross heat output. Typical system configurations supply up to four rotary dryers through high-temperature, insulated, refractory-lined, steel-cased ducts. High temperature gases are also ducted through a wellons designed and manufactured thermal fluid heater and are exhausted back to the furnace system or to a damper-controled emergency stack. A blending chamber mixes furnace combustion exhaust gases with ambient air to obtain the desired dryer inlet gas temperature. The Wellons wood-fired heating system integrates the proven cell furnace, storage bin, thermal fluid heater, fluid circulating systems, and auxiliary equipment into a reliable, high-quality, easy to operate system.
