Manufacturing Services
Westland’s manufacturing team is a group of engineers, draftsmen and tradespeople who are constantly pushing to develop better, more efficient incinerators. We have established original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supply agreements with strategic suppliers to maintain a consistency of product.
Waste Management
Principles of Waste Incineration
Waste incineration is the thermal oxidation of combustible matter with oxygen (from air) at sufficient temperatures to ignite the waste. The combustion design also generates heat sufficient to destroy volatile contaminants in the hot gases before being emitted through the stack. Cyclonator incinerators can be modified to recover energy contained in the waste gases.
Heating Value (HV)
Heating value, calorific value and heat of combustion are synonyms that quantify the heat released by the combustible component in the waste. This value is needed to maintain the incinerator’s loading rate at its design capacity. An understanding of the concept can be gained from the hypothetical processes shown below.
