ZEG - Small-Scale Plant

ZEG small-scale plants are offered in 1-5 TPD capacity range, depending on customer requirements. A ZEG H1 plant is the first product to be launched in the ZEG Hx Series. The first ZEG H1 plants is currently being commissioned at CCB Energy Park, Kollsnes, outside Bergen in Norway. Small-scale ZEG plants are well suited for distributed clean hydrogen production. Typical applications include the smalls-scale metal and glass production industrial segment, and the transportation segment where hydrogen is needed for clean fuel. Further, ZEG small-scale plants are well suited for the biogas segment, where biogas can be used directly as feedstock, due to the smaller volumes typically involved in biogas production. Using the ZEG technology, upgrading to biomethane is not required. And by storing the biogenic CO2, carbon removal is achieved – adding a very attractive value to such use case. Small-scale ZEG plants are well suited for distributed clean hydrogen production.

ZEG - Mid-Scale Plant

ZEG mid-scale plants are offered in 10-50 TPD capacity range, depending on customer requirements. A ZEG H25 plant is planned to be the first product to be launched in the ZEG Hxx Series, in 2026-2027. Mid-scale ZEG plants are well suited for distributed clean hydrogen production, but also for certain industrial applications. Potential applications include the steel industry and the transportation segment where hydrogen is needed for clean fuel for maritime, trucks, train and air. Further, ZEG mid-scale plants can also be suited for large-scale upgrading of biogas. If biogas is used as feedstock for the ZEG technology, and the captured biogenic CO2 is stored, carbon removal is achieved – adding a very attractive value to such use case.

ZEG - Large-Scale Plant

ZEG large-scale plants will be offered in 100-1000 TPD capacity range, depending on customer requirements. A ZEG H300 plant is planned to be the first product to be launched in the ZEG Hxxx Series, in 2029-2030. A large-scale plant can be configured either as a standalone production plant or a plant consisting of 2-3 modules (trains), resulting in up to 1000 TPD capacity. Large-scale ZEG plants are suited for centralized clean hydrogen production, typically for industrial applications. Potential applications include the current main users of hydrogen, the ammonia and chemical industry, but also new users of clean hydrogen who are looking to decarbonize their operations, such as the steel industry. Using the hydrogen for clean power production is also a target application for large-scale ZEG plants, by integration with turbines or fuel cells (SOFCs).
