Hydrogen sulfide or H2S is a lethal gas generated in refineries, petrochemical plants and gas handling and production facilities. Specifically, sulfur recovery units produce an off gas also known as tail gas that contains substantial amounts of H2S. Tail gas is destroyed using a special type of incineration system designed to eliminate H2S and avoid generation of corrosive acid by-products. The tail gas incineration system eliminates hydrogen sulfide while significantly reducing the impact of other environmentally offensive compounds.
