The frame is provided with nail holes for fixing with stud nails.In order to prevent voidsthe bayonet cable bushingmust be completely en-closed by concrete.When using individualpackages the direction of installation has to bedetermined with the principal or planner prior to concreting.BKD 150 sealing collars will be supplied fitting tothe wall thickness of thestructural works and are inserted flush into theformwork. (L = wall thick-ness in mm)BKD 150 is provided withprotective foils and sealingcaps. Here the in-stallation of the system intoconcrete was simulated with atest bell.All test specimens proved suc-cessful in the tests for gas-tightness and presswatertightness.Due to the closeness of systemBKD 150 to system KD 150 only system cover BKD 150-D3/60 was subjected to thehelium gastightness test andthe presswater tightness test at low temperatures as an example.In the helium test the speci-mens were checked for gas-tightness. In this test, the par-tial pressure of helium in theatmosphere directly after theexperimental set-up is to giveconclusions about the leakagerate of the system.In the test for presswatertightness at low temperaturesthe specimens were checkedfor presswater tightness (witha water / antifreeze compoundsolution) at extremely lowtemperatures for a period of 24hours.The obtained results confirmthat system BKD 150 is anexcellent sealing system andexceeds the values deman-ded for practical purposes by far.The following tightness tests were carried out:? presswater tightness at low temperatures at a pressure of 5 bars.? gastightness with helium at a pressure of 5 bars? Result of Gastightness Test:Partial pressure (directly after experimentalset-up) was 4.8 x 10-6 mbars. This is a verygood value as the partial pressure of heliumin the atmosphere is ca. 4.8 x 10-6 mbars. ? Result of Presswater Tightness Test:Liquid did not emerge. A feature was madeof the optimum structure of the sealingcollar and the very good expansion sealwhich is applied annularly around the sealing collar. This expansion seal guaranteesthat the connection between sealing collarand concrete does not break when the concrete dries.Test Results in Detail
