The potential of biogas for this task will be discussed as well as the consequences for the technology (demand oriented biogas production, interaction with the gas grid, other methane sources). With these projects, funded by the German government, Germany is preparing the transition of a subsidies based sector to market orientation. '10:30 '11:00 Italy : Europe's fastest growing market. The presentation will focus on 1) the framework conditions underpinning this rapid growth with an analysis of policy measures to manage market growth and 2) creating incentives to encourage local innovation and local technology development faced with strong competition from arriving technological leaders (Germany / Austria). The presentation will cover the key points recommended in the National Strategy for Sweden and will focus on the production and use of bio methane (including bio methane for transportation) and the value chain of biogas including exploitable synergies. The presentation will also provide insights into new developments and future perspectives for upgrading technologies.
