Since it was founded, Biotech has grown into a global company. The business gradually developed more and more into an export business, since the potential of wood heating was also recognized beyond the borders of Austria. This happened not least because the use and potential of renewable energies has been recognized worldwide in recent years and has become increasingly important.

In addition to the main market of Europe, American, Taiwanese and Japanese customers, for example, also count on the Biotech brand.

The technological lead brought innovative developments like this DCC – dual combustion control® out. The unique combustion system enables low emissions and low consumption at the same time. DCC® has become an integral part of every biotech pellet boiler.

From the idea to the success

As early as 1996, the Biotech founders recognized the enormous potential of pellet heating and renewable energies. In the garage of Thomas Padinger, one of the founders of Biotech Energietechnik, they began to develop a tailor-made boiler for the then little-known energy source wood pellets in order to make biomass heating accessible for single-family homes as well.

The demands on the energy technology were high right from the start: space-saving and independent of spatial conditions, uncomplicated installation, easy to operate, intelligently controlled and combined with the highest possible efficiency also in terms of sustainability. The takeover by Optimetall in 2015 laid the foundation for a successful future.

Competence and experience in burning wood was paired with innovative production know-how. This combination enables Biotech to expand the product range to include wood chips and log boilers.

The products are constantly being further developed in terms of user friendliness and environmental friendliness.
