Patented design; patent # 6,712,885 DESCRIPTION Removing moisture and lubricants is essential to purifying compressed air. Conventional method of drying compressed air below +35 0F pressure dew point is to use desiccants. The process requires periodic desiccant replacement. Moreover, most dryers waste 15 % of compressed air and/or a large amount heat for desiccant regeneration PIONEER offers a unique and patented “Alternating Evaporator Technology” to provide low dew point, clean compressed air. PIONEER'S unique approach involves chilling compressed air to approximately -100F to -20 0F (-230C to -290C) in two alternating evaporators. One evaporator chills compressed air while the other is defrosted. Chilling air condenses moisture and most other contaminants. In addition, the uncondensed contaminants dissolve in the condensed moisture, which is separated and drained at various low points. The Ultra Low Dew Point Dryers include an air-air heat exchanger to lower incoming air temperature with the out going chilled air. The Ultra Low Dew Point Chillers include an air to refrigerant Pre-Cooler (in lieu of air-air heat exchanger) to cool air to approximately 400F/40C. QUALITY FEATURES 1. Air-Air Heat Exchanger (Air Dryers only) – Cools incoming warm air to approximately 500F with the chilled air 2. Air-Refrigerant Pre-Cooler (Air Chiller only) – Cools air to approximately 400F/40C with first stage of refrigeration 3. Duplex Air-Refrigerant Evaporators – Cools air to (-100F/-230C) to (-200F/-290C), with duplex evaporators; one evaporator cools air while the other is de-frosted, and cooled again to provide chilled/dry compressed air uninterruptedly 4. PLC Controlled Valves – Provide precise temperature control 5. Chilled Separator - Separator is chilled with refrigerant for maximum efficiency 6. Cold Coalescing- High performance, 0.01 micron, coalescing filter, installed at a cold point with auto drain provides maximum contaminant removal 7. Re-heating (Air Dryers only)- Chilled, dry and clean air flows through the air-air heat exchanger, where it’s reheated to approximately 300F/170C below the incoming air temperature 8. S. S. One-year mechanical parts only warranty applies to equipment outside the mainland, U.S.A., Canada and Mexico.
