TAKING YOU FROM KNOW-HOW TO SHOW-HOW3 - 5 JUNE 2014, JÖNKÖPING, SWEDEN WWW.WORlDbIOENERGY.cOMFIRST ANNOUNcEMENT AND cAll FOR PAPERSWORLDBIOENERGY2014WORlD bIOENERGY 2014 – for bioenergy doersIn this political landscape, bioenergy is a hot topic around the world. It is a renewable energy solution that can be implemented in almost every country, and a main component in the transition to a fully renewable energy system. At the same time, bioenergy is questioned by many politicians, by media, and by some envi-ronmental NGO:s. The debate about food versus fuels and carbon balance is raging. The need for the bioenergy community to meet and cooperate is bigger than ever. World Bioenergy 2014 in Jönköping is the 7th edi-tion of this unique event. At World Bioenergy we combine theory and practice under the motto “Taking you from know-how to show-how”. This time we will take the concept one step further and help the participants to “know-who”, to find the right persons to help creating business and solve problems. Find the doers and get things doneTomas Kåberger,Chairman of the World Bioenergy 2014 conference. Please note that this outline is subject to change.Photo: Elmia ABPROGRAMME OUTlINE09.0011.0013.0015.0018.0019.0017.00Monday 2/6Tuesday 3/6Thursday 5/6Wednesday 4/6OPENING PlENARY SESSIONcONFERENcE FINAl PlENARY SESSIONlUNcH & EXHIbITION lUNcH & EXHIbITION lUNcH & EXHIbITIONOFFIcIAl DINNERPRE- cONFERENcE TRANSFER TOURSTRANSFER TOURSEXHIbITION & POSTER EXHIbITIONEXHIbITION & POSTER EXHIbITIONEXHIbITION & POSTER EXHIbITIONWWW.WORlDbIOENERGY.cOMIcE bREAKERSTUDY VISITS STUDY VISITSSIDE EVENTS SIDE EVENTScONFERENcE cONFERENcEWORKSHOPSWORKSHOPSSTUDY VISITSSIDE EVENTSTAKING ONE STEP FURTHERThe concept “Taking you from know-how to show-how” has been immensely successful. We have shown, with practical examples, how science-based bioenergy knowledge can be implemented. We now want to take this concept one step further and make an event where you will also “know-who”.We want to organise a large number of workshops where specific issues can be discussed. No boring power-point presentations and one-way communication - instead we want create meetings where arguments and questions can be exchanged and new personal relations can form. We want to bring together users and equipment producers, as well as researchers and inventors. Read more on www.worldbioenergy.com.The CO2 level in the atmosphere recently reached 400 ppm. During the coming year IPCC will deliver its new set of reports on climate change, and the climate issue will again be high on the political agenda. Oil prices have parked above 100 dollars per barrel. Germany is going forward with its energy transition. Japan and China, on different grounds, are looking for renewable energy on a large scale. Africa and Latin America offer new opportunities. The combination of conference, exhibition and study-tours will be complemented with even more activities to create fruitful meetings and contacts person to person. The conference itself will include a large number of workshops where concrete issues can be handled. The partici-pants are invited to suggest topics and offer their own input. Jönköping, in the middle of southern Sweden, offers the perfect setting for a conference where the focus is on practical results. A large num-ber of study visits will be organised, both in the afternoons and on the pre-conference tours from the airports in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Bioenergy today is the main energy source in Sweden, surpassing oil in 2009. The study visits give the opportunity to see a wide variety of sus-tainable and efficient bioenergy solutions in the Swedish communities.World Bioenergy 2014 is the place to meet new business partners, to see new technical solu-tions, to learn from and listen to interesting ex-perts from around the world, and to take part in discussions on the current issues. As a partici-pant, you are also a contributor to our event. Welcome to World Bioenergy 2014NEW this yearcAll FOR PAPERS & PRESENTATIONSWithin World Bioenergy 2014 you will be able to participate in several sessions focusing on different themes. The overall focus will be on applied and currently available technology, as well as efficient, sustainable and economic solutions. Shortly: bioenergy solutions that work.
