Energy“Making a Visible Difference”THE INSPECTION SPECIALISTS“We’ll keep you powering the nation”Contracting Project Engineering Equipment Rental “Making a Visible Difference”THE INSPECTION SPECIALISTSInspectahire is one of the UK’s leadingsuppliers of specialist inspection technology andsolutions to companies worldwide. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland we offer equipment rental, contracting and project engineeringservices that provide flexible solutions.Since 1981 we have gained significant international experience in the Energy industry, undertaking inspections on hydro power schemes, power stations and wind turbines.Safety and cost are two of the biggest concerns in industry today. We realise this and aim to reducethe effect of them both by using our broad range of equipment and our extensive knowledge. We can undertake inspections at all sorts of angles and in all sorts of environments – includingharsh and hazardous environments. We have inspection experience underwater, on water, underground, on ground and above ground, on assets including boilers, pipes, chimneys, intakes, outfalls, tankage, and wind turbine towers and blades.Inspections don’t always need to take place after a problem has occurred. Regular inspectionscan identify problems before they happen and in the long run save time and money. Sometimes the problem dictates that we have to create a solution. When this happens we canuse our in house capability to custom design a system.Inspectahire is committed to being progressive in the application of new technology anddeveloping innovative processes and services to remain a market leader of inspection services.Established in 1981, we have grown, invested anddeveloped as technology has changed and always useour imagination to solve the trickiest of problems.Worried about inspecting your assets?Worried about corrosion? Worried about downtime? Our extensive range of equipment can answer those questions. With technology which can beoperated remotely and remove the need for man entry or taking the inspection site out ofservice, we can help minimise the safety and cost concerns. We offer rental, contracting and project engineering services which are carried out withequipment which includes:• Video probes• Fibrescopes• Borescopes• Pipeline crawlers• Thermographic / IR cameras• Laser technology / metrology• CCTV cameras – explosion proof, intrinsically safe and waterproof• Ultrasonic technology• Access systems• Ground water flow monitoring• Remote controlled aircraft• Retrieval devices • ROV’s.With an extensive range of equipment we offerthe following three core services:ContractingWe are often contacted when a problem occurs. But, a regular program of inspection canidentify a problem before it occurs. This can save you time and money. With our equipment and highly skilled and knowledgeable in-house technical team we canprovide an effective and productive, integrated inspection service.Longer term contracts can be undertaken to carry out ongoing inspections and monitoring.Project EngineeringInnovation is at the heart of our business – we were born out of it. As technology has changedwe have adapted how we use it.Every project requires some engineering, but some projects require more. Using our in-housedesign capability and extensive experience, we can custom design a system to overcome the problem.Equipment RentalIf you have the skilled staff, we can provide the equipment to carry out inspections. Equipmentrental could be the most cost effective solution. All our rental packages are tailored to your requirements, and each piece of equipment isprovided transit cased with operating instructions and appropriate test certification. Our pool of rental equipment consists of the latest technology from trusted suppliers. Safety is of paramount importance to us. From the competentoperation of equipment to safe inspection practices, our teamof project engineers and technicians are trained to the lateststandards. They are trained to work in hazardous environmentsincluding explosive areas, confined spaces and areas requiringrope access techniques.Thermographic / IR camerasThermographic cameras are used to measure thermal or infrared energy, which is light that isinvisible to the human eye. The camera provides precise non-contact temperaturemeasurement capabilities.Commonly used to measure the breakdown of refractory, improve efficiencies in cooling andheating systems and to locate overheating joints or parts in power lines and electrical circuits, thermographic cameras offer a flexible and cost effective inspection solution.Video probesVideo probes offer state-of-the-art technology to inspect pipe work of all sizes, ducting, wall /floor voids and many other areas – effectively places which are inaccessible to the human eye. They provide high resolution real-time video outputs, allowing the inspector to see the cause ofthe problem and in some instances, if it is a blockage, solve it there and then using retrievaltools to remove the obstruction.Pipeline crawlersPipe comes in many configurations, including tortuous path systems. Advances in robotictechnology means that crawlers can be configured to carry different payloads and this allowsus to undertake inspections quickly and safely in places which humans cannot.Crawlers come in all shapes and sizes and relay information to the inspector via an umbilical. They are able to carry out inspections and remedial work in pipes, and surveys on tank wallsand other sizeable structures.Access systemsNot every inspection can be easily accessed from the ground. Difficult to reach equipment inawkward places is one of our specialities. We offer a range of access systems which minimiserisk and downtime. From aerial lift platforms for inspecting stacks to IRATA trained technicians who can abseil ontoand into structures, we can offer an access inspection solution for almost any requirement youmay have.Ultrasonic technologyWith most inspections we see the problems, but often the thickness of a metal or the inclusionof defects is of critical importance. The standard NDE technique for investigating this revolvesaround ultrasonic technology. This technology can be used to measure the thickness of metal in pipes and tanks, identifyingareas of corrosion and therefore potential leaks. We offer a range of inspection solutions whichuse ultrasonic technology. We also have technology which offers simpler solutions such as video recorders, digitalcameras, depth gauges, callipers and verniers.“Making a Visible Difference”THE INSPECTION SPECIALISTSFor three decades Inspectahire has carried outinspections on Energy projects across the world. From the depths of a tunnel in a hydro powerscheme to the tips of a wind turbines blades,we have been called upon to undertake all typesof inspections. Our experience is not restricted to the Energy sector. We have built up a strongreputation in a wide range of industry sectors including Oil & Gas, PetroleumRetail, Pharmaceuticals, Physical Assets and Process Industries. We oftendraw on the experiences from one industry and apply them in an innovativeway in another, along the way setting industry firsts. It is this innovation and our experience, knowledge and determination toremain at the forefront of inspection technology that ensures we maintain ourposition as a leading supplier of inspection solutions.www.inspectahire.comWe are committed to finding simple solutionsto the most interesting problems.Inspectahire Instrument Company Ltd.Unit 11, Whitemyres Business CentreWhitemyres AvenueAberdeen, AB16 6HQT: 01224 789692F: 01224 789462E: enquiries@inspectahire.comwww.inspectahire.com“Making a Visible Difference”THE INSPECTION SPECIALISTS
