About 80% of India`s electricity needs is met by fossil fuels. India is also heavily dependent on energy from other countries to fuel its growth, adding to global warming. By 2030, India`s dependence on energy imports is expected to exceed 53% of the country`s total energy consumption. Hence, we must take into consideration the odds of losing power when we need it most.

Given this defining moment, solar power is emerging as a mainstay power supply technology and is expected to increase contribution significantly to the energy mix. 1 kW solar power saves 77 kg coal from being burned and 136 kg of CO2 being released into the atmosphere. Solar clearly makes the most compelling case for both the environment and the economy.
