HVTS-G - Brochure
Osby Parca HVTS-GBiomass boiler for moist fuels, 1–8 MWWe deliver the total solution The HVTS-G is a complete unit with grate design that allows the combus-tion air to be induced in different zones. The brick lined furnace and the ceramic after burner vault make sure that the combustion temperature is at the desired level before the flue gases leave the furnace — this is the key to a clean combustion process. The automatic ash handling consists of an ash scraper that is integrated under the grate cart, and also internal ash and dust augers. These parts helps in keeping the maintenance work at a very low level. The distribution of combustion air is handled by the primary, the secon-dary and the tertiary air fan. The fans lead the air into the furnace through holes in the grate and through nozzles in the combustion chamber. The air distribution adapts to the used fuel type and moisture level, a function that helps in achieving optimal combustion. The flue gas passages are designed so that the dust particles fall down to the bottom of the boiler, from where the they are conveyed outside by the internal augers. Furthermore, the boiler can be equipped with different types of flue gas cleaning and external automatic convey-ing of ash and dust. Beneficial for both environment and operation economy.Design and productionDuring the development phase of the boiler our own design department worked together with some of Sweden’s leading combustion experts in order to reach optimal results. Only the highest quality raw material and parts are used when building Osby Parca boilers. Because we ourselves produce the boiler grate and the rest of the boiler parts we are in control of the whole technical process — from the beginning to the end. This methodology results in an advanced, robust boiler solution that is both reliable and easy to use — charac-teristic Osby Parca traits since more than 75 years. AutomationThe fuel is fed into the furnace through the front of the boiler. The combustion takes place on a moving, step-ped grate that pushes the fuel forward while it’s drying, to finally burn up and gasify, leaving only ashes behind. The ash and dust are automatically taken care of by internal scrapers and augers. The cleaning of the convection tu-bes is done with compressed air that is great for cleaning when using moist fuels. Our control systems use ABB’s powerful Freelance software and are programmed by our design department, therefore we can offer customised solutions that can handle just the boiler functions, the entire heating plant, or anything in between. It is a truly adaptive system that can also be operated and monitored remotely. Our control systems’ high accuracy results in low emissions, irrespective of the boiler load. On the display the controlled components are shown with clear, graphic images. Grate designThe proper grate design is crucial for the combustion process and the overall function of a biomass boiler working on moist fuel. With HVTS-G we offer a boiler solution with integrated firing equipment that can handle wood chips with a moisture level up to 55%. The primary air, which is distributed through holes in the grate, is regulated, this function facilitates operation with low loads. The grates are constructed as casettes that can be re-placed. When the boiler size augments, the amount of fuel needed also augments, and therefore also the amount of ashes generated. To handle the bigger amounts of fuel and ash the construction department designs each boiler model with the optimal quantity of casettes.
