Hybrid-Plate Falling Film Evaporator - Brochure

For a pressure range up to 60 bar and a temperature range up to 900°C there is an energy-efficient solution: the fully welded hybrid plate heat exchanger. Basic element for all types of this heat exchanger is a 360mm wide profiled sheet between 0.4 to 1.0mm thick. Hybrid heat exchangers are operated in a cross-flow. The vertical flow tube side and the horizontal flow corrugated side are created by profiled plates that are stacked on top of each other. Two such plates together form one plate element which in turn produces the corrugated flow duct. Two plate elements welded together and arranged end to end produce one row of tubes that is embedded between two corrugated ducts. One HYBRID heat exchanger block consists of several stacked plate elements that are welded together at their front ends. The tubes thus produced have usually a diameter of 5 to 10mm and the gap on the corrugated side is usually between 4 and 8mm wide. Flat cross sections serve to support the different plate elements as well as increasing the tube end turbulent flow.
