INTEGRA Metering’s history goes back to 1928 when the Wasserzählerfabrik, later renamed Aquametro, was founded in Basel, Switzerland. For 89 years, the company strives to gain knowledge, know-how, and experience in the water and thermal energy business while building its reputation on a global scale with 5 international offices in Europe, Middle-East, and Asia.

2017 marks a significant milestone in the company history: Aquametro announces its merger with Yzatec, a French leading technology start-up founded in 2010 and renowned for its new generation of piezo-based ultrasonic water meters with embedded wireless IoT communication, resulting in the creation of the new INTEGRA Metering. The newly established company translates the strong will of combining both of its identities, namely the experienced and well-established Aquametro on one hand with the future-oriented and fast-moving Yzatec on the other hand.

Today, INTEGRA Metering provides a broad and complete range of solutions and products in the water and thermal energy industries, and builds on its over 90-years experience to deliver customized and quality services to water and thermal energy suppliers, utilities, municipalities, property management companies, and building operators. History of the company’s development

1928: Adolf Gutzwiller establishes the Wasserzählerfabrik Basel, shortly afterwards renamed Aquametro Ltd.
1928 – 1937: Location in the Gasstrasse in Basel in Basel
1938 – 1989: Location in the Murbacherstrasse in Basel
1964: Inauguration of the newly constructed production premises in Therwil (BL)
1972: Aquametro Belgium s.p.r.l., our first international subsidiary, is founded in Brussels
1986: Aquametro’s test centre is accredited as an authorised Swiss verification laboratory
1988: Our second subsidiary, Aquametro Messtechnik GmbH, is founded in Germany
1993: ISO 9001 – Initial certification for Aquametro
1993: Establishment of the branch AQUAMETRO Messtechnik GmbH at the Bremen location
1997: Accreditation of the test centre according to ISO 17025
2004: Aquametro Representative Office is founded in Tokyo (Japan)
2007: Aquametro Korea Ltd is founded in Busan (Korea) : Aquametro Representative Office is founded in Dubai (UAE)
2008: ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 – initial certification
2009: Aquametro (S.E.A.) Pte Ltd is founded in Singapore
2010: Aquametro (China) Pte Ltd is founded in Shanghai
2012: Aquametro ME JLT is founded in Dubai, today’s INTEGRA Metering AG DMCC in Dubai (UAE)
2013: Aquametro Oil & Marine GmbH is founded in Rostock / Germany
2016: Participation in Yzatec SAS, a French start-up in Toulouse
2017: Carve-out of the marine business into the new Aquametro Oil & Marine Group

Merger between Aquametro Ltd. and Yzatec SAS to become INTEGRA METERING AG
Founding of the new Swiss subsidiary Aquametro AG

2021: Transition from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 certification
2023: Aquametro AG and bill24 AG become INTEGRA Metering AG, AQUAMETRO MESSTECHNIK GmbH becomes INTEGRA Metering GmbH
