KWB EmpaEco Buffer Tank Brochure

?Biomass Heating SystemsKWB EmpaEcoKWB EmpaEco and KWB EmpaEco Buffer TanksThe KWB EmpaEco buffer tank in harmonious KWB design is available is the sizes 800 litres, 1,000 litres and 1,500 litres* and is an ideal addition to the log-wood heating system KWB Classicfire. However, it can also be used in combination with the pellet heating system KWB Easyfire and the heating system for wood chips and pellets KWB Multifire. The main job of the buffer tank is to level out fluctuations as well as to supply heat when the heating system is standing idle. If a solar system is integrated KWB recommends the KWB EmpaEco Solar buffer tank which holds 1,000 litres. This buffer tank can be used optimally in combination with solar systems with a collector area of up to approximately 15 m² – the solar heat is transferred to the tank water by a straight-tube heat exchanger with a 3 m² heating surface. To increase the storage volume KWB EmpaEco (Solar) buffer tanks as well as KWB EmpaCompact (Solar) stratifica-tion storage tanks of the same size can be interconnected to a buffer battery with connecting corrugated tubes. If the heating connections are ideally arranged these buffer batteries can be installed with minimal use of space (see buffer battery installation example, page 11). Advantages of a Buffer TankEconomicalBy using a buffer tank a higher annual degree of utilization is achieved than would be the case without a buffer tank Reduces costsLower fuel consumption through the possibility of continuous operation in the modulation area from part load to full load.Harmonious Buffer tank in the KWB design for a unified central heating roomEnvironmentally friendly• Reduction of emissions• Soft foam insulation, 100 mm* Special sizes on request?Biomass Heating SystemsKWB EmpaEco3 31 1 1 11 1 1 11 1 1 11 1 1 12 22 22 22 2Technical DataKWB EmpaEco and KWB EmpaEco Solar buffer tanksContent Litres 800 1,000 1,500Permissible operating pressure bar 3 3 3Permissible operating temperature °C 95 95 95Storage tank height with insulation “j” mm 1,785 2,135 2,235Insulation thickness mm 100 100 100Weight kg 149 176 205Tipping measure mm 1,750 2,070 2,270Register surface area for KWB EmpaEco Solar m2 – 3,0 –Register content for KWB EmpaEco Solar l – 19,8 –Dimensions according to Drawing Litres 800 1,000 1,500a mm 260 310 380b mm 630 745 825c mm 1,030 1,250 1,350d mm 1,430 1,710 1,760e mm 1,250 1,500 1,500f mm 1,700 2,050 2,150g mm 790 790 1,000i mm – 720 –k mm – 310 –KWB EmpaEco Buffer Tank Fitting Dimensions:1? 8?units?heating?system?connections?6/4”?(integrated?flow?baffles?on?the?side)2? 4?units?sensor?immersion?sleeves?½”?(on?the?side?for?temperature?sensor?and?thermometer)3? 1?unit?heating?connection?6/4”?at?the?top?(or?ventilation)4?
