Today, the company is an internationally recognized leader in high-end pipe applications and products. With plants in Houston, Texas; Livingston, Scotland; Yangzhou, China; and Perth, Australia, Wyman Gordon offers the largest and most comprehensive seam-less pipe manufacturing capability in the industry. The Pipe products serve the power generation markets, processed oil and gas, upstream and downstream oil & gas industry, as well as various mechanical and structural applications.A primary feature separating Wyman Gordon from its competition is its unique vertical extrusion presses, the largest in existence. These presses are supported by four rotary hearth furnaces and a 14-thousand-ton blocking press. This provides the Houston plant with the exceptional capability to manufacture high-quality pipe in a uniform, continuous process. Similar facili-ties and presses exist at the Livingston Scotland plant. Extruded pipe and solid bars are produced at our facilities in a range of sizes and variety of materials, including carbon and alloy steels, stainless and duplex alloys as well as nickel-based titanium and powder metal alloys. In 2010, a joint venture with Yangzhou Chengde Steel Tube Company, of China, greatly extended the Wyman Gordon and PCC Energy Group capabilities and service, worldwide. Chengde is a leading manufacturer of seamless, extruded pipe for boiler applications in coal-fired plants, as well as pipe and tubing for other energy related appli-cations, such as compressed natural gas and mechanical applications.
