QDR - 900MHz Digital Radio

The QTech Digital Radio (QDR) is a low power, high speed digital radio that is compliant with recent New Zealand legislation changes. The QDR can be used for communication between DATRAN RTUs and I/O expansion modules, between DATRAN RTUs in master/slave configuration, as a “point to point” system and even for industrial RS232/RS485 wireless links. The digital radio is a state of the art design that uses 900MHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology that is compliant to AS/NZS 4268:2008. FHSS is a “free-to-air” band with no licensing costs. The QDR has an incredibly low power consumption and draws a maximum current of 150mA, making it perfect for solar and battery powered sites. This low power, coupled with a line of sight operating range of up to 6km (terrain dependent), makes the QDR a cost effective communication solution for many telemetry scenarios.
