S-103: Entry Level Solar Electric TrainingS-102: Introduction to Solar Thermal TechnologyThis course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of solar technologies and a study of the history and current state of the solar photovoltaic industry. The course provides hands-on training exercises and labs. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the tools used to complete site evaluations, perform necessary measurements and calculations, and specify balance of system components required to complete a fully-functional solar PV system installation. Safe use and storage of required tools will also be covered, along with OSHA and NEC safety codes. This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of solar energy and to the solar heating and cooling (SHC) industry.S-104: Thermal Design and InstallationThis course is a continuation of Introduction to Solar Thermal Systems, S 102 and provides an overview of the design and installation of solar thermal systems used for domestic hot water production and swimming pool heating. It includes a full system installation lab and multiple design problems. S-106: Solar Electric Lab - RedidentialThis course is the lab portion of Ontility’s Entry Level Solar Electric Training (S103) and provides hands-on experience with solar PV equipment, materials and tools. Successful completion of course S105 and S106 provides students the same benefits as our traditional five day course Solar Success: PV Design and Installation (S103). S-108: Solar Electric Training For ElectriciansThis workshop is designed for electricians, solar installers and electrical contractors who install solar PV systems. This class will cover system electrical design, system components, wiring best practices and installation procedures, utility interconnection, electric code and permitting. S-105: Entry Level Solar Electric Training - OnlineThis course is a companion to Ontility’s Solar Electric Lab - Residential (S106) and provides hands-on experience with solar PV equipment, materials and tools used in commercial systems. Topics include site survey and shading analysis, PV module wiring, system mechanical layout and installation, mounting techniques and equipment, and balance of system installation. S-110: Solar Sales andFinanceSolar Sales and Finance is designed for solar contractors and others who sell solar PV systems. This intensive course includes a review of PV markets and applications, customer qualification, site analysis, system design parameters, system components, cost estimation, energy production modeling and use of financial analysis tools. The class is focused on creating a complete solar sales proposal, presenting the proposal to a customer, and closing the sale. AS-110: Advanced Solar Design IThis workshop is designed for electricians, solar contractors, designers, and installers who have already taken a solar fundamentals course and who need to produce high quality specifications and documentation required by architectural design teams, engineering firms, developers and discerning property owners. This class will cover design drawings, feasibility reports, stringent building department reviews, the bid process and construction administration for residential and small commercial, grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) systems. AS-214: NABCEP Solar Thermal Installer Certification Exam PrepThis intensive two-day workshop is the solar energy industry's most thorough preparatory class for the NABCEP® Thermal Installer Certification exam. Students review advanced thermal system and safety topics, and discuss test-taking strategy. Individual assessment of strengths and weaknesses and a study plan is provided. AS-112: Advanced Solar Design for Architects and EngineersThis workshop is designed for architects and engineers who have already taken a solar fundamentals course and who need to produce high quality specifications and documentation required by general contractors, developers and discerning property owners. This class will cover design drawings, feasibility reports, stringent building department reviews, the bid process and construction administration for residential and small commercial grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) systems. S-107: Solar ElectricLab - CommercialPV Technical Sales is designed for solar contractors and installers, electrical contractors, home builders, general contractors and others who sell solar PV systems. Topics include solar fundamentals, customer and site qualification processes, site analysis, system design, system components and estimation.S-109: PV TechnicalSalesSolar Fundamentals for Architects and Engineers is designed specifically for architects and engineers who design solar PV systems. The course emphasizes the electrical aspects of system design and engineering. Topics include PV markets and applications, solar site considerations, solar system types, system components, wiring design best practices, utility interconnection, electric code and permitting requirements. S-112: Solar Fundamentals for Architects & EngineersThis intensive two-day workshop is the PV industry's most thorough preparatory class for the NABCEP® photovoltaic (PV) Installer Certification exam.
