The Effects of Soiling on Photovoltaics

The world is heading towards a more sustainable energy supply. Over 100 GW of solar PV and about 60 GW of wind power projects were completed in 2019, resulting in a continuously growing share of renewables in global electricity generation – 28% in Q1 2020, compared to 26% a year before. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), “solar photovoltaics (PV) is set to increase the fastest of all renewable energy sources in 2020”.
