Each size of helical reducers was developed in two-, three- and four-stage design (apart from size 100), and bevel helical reducers in three-, four- and five-stage design (apart from size 100).Designs of helical reducers include the 6.3-400 range of ratios and bevel-helical reducers: 18-1250.These reducers are intended to drive mechanical devices with horizontal axis of the work piece used in many industries including metal, chemical, paper industry as well as in metallurgy, mining and others. The designs offered in version with solid or hollow low-speed shaft may work in horizontal or vertical position. Hollow shaft can be made with a cylindrical bore and keyway or without keyway to be built-in with a clamping ring. With the reducers there can cooperate electric engines on support arms or with flange, attached to body of the reducer by means of coupling input. In all designs of reducers there is possibility to mount one-way clutches and reducer cooling elements. In order to adapt our offer to increasingly complex needs of clients, it is possible to make special reducer versions for specific applications based on the series of basic types.BearingsIn horizontal reducers there are bearings applied, that provide load-carrying capacity specified in the catalog.Bearings, similarly to toothed elements and shafts, have been checked by computer programs according to commonly known methods of calculation taking into account recommendations of manufacturers and the ISO standard requirements.Hourly durability of used bearings is not less than the assumed durability of toothed components, for the given load conditions.BodiesBodies of horizontal reducers are made of grey cast iron with division perpendicular to the shaft axle.Bearings are seated in blind sockets of the body or pass-through ones sealed with a lid.The body is machined on CNC machining centers, which allow to achieve high accuracy of performance, especially in spacing of bearing hole axles and hole axle parallelism and perpendicularity of these axles and outer face surfaces. The accuracy of performance is checked each time by the quality control department of the company.Toothed elementsIn order to ensure high durability and ability to carry large loads, gear wheelsand pinions are made of high-grade alloy steels. Gears and pinions are subject to carburizing and hardening in order to achieve high breaking strength and hardness of cooperating teeth surfaces, while the elements with large modules are subject to surface hardening. The efficiency of two-stage reducers – 0.98, three-stage – 0.97 and four- and five-stage ones – 0.95.ShaftsLow-speed shafts due to the high torsion and bending loads are made of chrome alloy steel(40H or 40HM) and subject to heat treatment (improvement). Grooves on the low-speed shaft end journals, due to high values of cutting stresses and cutting pressures on the lateral surfaces, are made as heat treated. In order to eliminate the dangerous phenomenon of accumulation of stresses, all shaft shoulders are made with possibly large radii of undercuts, especially at free shaft journals.SealsAs shaft seals there are used the SIMMERING rings with double lip, placed in covers closing the bearing seats.LubricationFor lubrication of toothed elements and bearings the gear mineral oils are used. In designs of bevel-helical reducers some bearings are lubricated with grease. The list of recommended oils and greases can be found in the final part of the catalogue.6Rules of reducer selectionLIST OF SYMBOLS USED IN THE CATALOGUEk1 - load type factor (Table 2)k2 - service factor (Table 3)k3 - starting factor (Table 4)k4 - ambient temperature coefficient (Table 5)iR - actual reducer ratioiN - nominal reducer ration1 - driving device rotational speed (1/min)n2 - driven machine rotational speed (1/min)P1 - drive unit power (kW)P2 - driven machine power (kW)PN - reducer nominal power (kW)PNT - reducer limit power without cooling (kW)PT - design thermal power (kW)TR - maximum starting torque of drive unit (Nm)FA - axial force loading low-speed shaft (N)FR - radial force loading shaft journal (N)Fx - design radial force (N)a, c - design constants of reducer (Table 6)REDUCER SELECTIONSelection of the proper reducer consisting of determination of the optimum size, ratio, operating system is possible if the exact conditions, under which the reducer is supposed to work, are specified. The basic parameters necessary for the proper reducer selection include: a) power of the driving unit and driven machine, b) revolutions of the driving unit and driven machine, c) the maximum starting torque, d) type of driving unit and driven machine, e) the number of working hours per 24hrs, f) the number of startings per hour, g) ambient temperature in the place of operation. On base of these data the reducer selection is made based on the selection coefficients summarized in Tables 2, 3, 4 and 5 and determination of the type of operation according to Table 1. Type of operation characterizes the driven machine, with regard to the irregularity of motion and load dynamics. The procedure algorithm is shown in the following formulas.1. Determination of reducer size1.1 Ratio:1.2 Nominal power:1.3 Checking the starting conditions:Reducer size should be selected from the table of allowable power based on iN and PN.2. Determination of thermal power limitReducer thermal power: PT = P2 x k4Reducer can be used without additional cooling when: PT = PNTIt is recommended to select a reducer without the need for additional cooling.Exemplary selection of a reducer is presented later in this catalog.7Types of operation (Table 1):I - Light duty (regular movement without dynamic loads)II - Medium duty (irregular movement, moderate dynamic loads)III - Heavy duty (irregular movement, considerable dynamic loads)Table 1. NECKS16Allowable shaft loads Allowable loads of the reducer low-speed shaft end journals must be read from the tables. The values given in the tables correspond to the case, when the FR force is applied in the middle of the shaft end journal. One can also determine the value of the Fx radial force in case, when it does not operate in the middle of the shaft journal according to the following formula: Where: a, c – constants selected from table 6 FR – force read from table 7Table 6. EngineFlangeDiameter DLength LReducer size58Drive units of conveyor belts General InformationConveyor drive units mounted on the frame consist of bevel-helical reducer of 3KA type, suitable engine and clutch. They can be made in three variants:1) with tyre coupling,2) with liquid coupling,3) with brake coupling and V-brake.Drive unit mounting consists of reducer hanging on the drum shaft and basing it on the support. For this reason, in drive units there are used only reducers with sleeve, in the following varieties:1) with a keyway,2) with a clamping ring.In all units it is possible to install the one-way clutch. All dimensions of reducers are provided in this catalogue on page 28.Due to the possibility of applying couplings of different manufacturers there may be differences in dimensions of the complete units. They will be given while preparing specific offers.Guidelines for drive selection Selection of a drive unit is actually limited to the proper selection of a reducer. The procedure algorithm and all necessary information such as: selection criteria, selection factors, tables of power and formulas are provided in this catalogue.Example of a drive unit marking
