In the first stage the industrial and slaughterhouse residues are macerated before they pass through a hygienisation/sterilization stage. As final stage a digestate treatment is installed in order to reduce the di-gestate volume and to enhance the quality of the remaining digestate for further utilisation (i.e. as fertilizer).
