Increased natural gas availability, accessibility, and mobile fueling options have recently expanded opportunities for use of natural gas in these sectors and other remote (non-pipeline) operations. The inaugural HHP SUMMIT will review these topics over a two and a half day event in September 2012 in Houston, Texas including general and breakout sessions, a tradeshow, networking opportunities and an off-site tour.

The potential of natural gas to fuel a wide range of high horsepower equipment has never been more real or more imminent. HHP Summit 2012 is a multi-day conference designed to discuss the opportunities presented by natural gas as an alternative to traditional diesel fuel in these operations. Energy supply, pricing, technology advancements, and regulatory shifts are now combining to form "the perfect storm" and make an exceptionally strong case for a switch to natural gas in a variety of high fuel use applications. Increased mobile fueling options have also recently expanded opportunities for use of natural gas in these sectors and other remote (non-pipeline) operations.

This event will examine the topics and technologies that can make this shift a reality and will put attendees on a fast track to successful project development. Real life case studies will examine where, when, and how natural gas is currently being used in a variety of high horsepower operations and industry leaders from across a variety of sectors will be present to discuss what else can be done to make an alternatively fueled future a reality.

If you work or engage with any of the following industries, this is simply a "can`t miss" event:

  • Marine vessels, including large passenger and vehicle ferries, tug boats, towing and support vessels, and other commercial watercraft
  • Drilling rigs, on-site power generation, and supply trucks
  • Line haul and switch locomotives
  • Large hauling trucks operating in open-pit mines
  • Construction and earth moving equipment
  • Agricultural and farming equipment
  • Stationary power generation, pulp plants and other industrial facilities

While the industries represented above are varied, in nearly every case fuel cost savings to the end-user are significant and equipment investment payback periods are often less than a year or two. With natural gas offering economic benefits of this scale (as well as critical environmental benefits), this discussion is simply not to be missed. The conference will also examine the synergies between these multiple high fuel use applications when it comes to natural gas fuel supply, fuel delivery logistics, refueling infrastructure, and related capacities.

The use of natural gas as a replacement for conventional diesel fuels in vehicle applications has been gaining ground in the U.S. and around the world for well over a decade. Fleet operators have realized significant benefits from the deployment of natural gas vehicles given the increasing difference in the cost of petroleum versus domestic natural gas.

In high mileage and high fuel use applications such as over the road trucking, refuse, transit, and others, cost savings are directly proportional to the volume of diesel fuel being replaced with cleaner burning and lower cost natural gas. While heavy duty fleet operators have been able to realize impressive savings, the use of natural gas in place of diesel in off-road high-horsepower applications presents an even greater opportunity to recognize significant operational cost reductions, near-immediate payback periods, and important environmental benefits.

Summit organizers Gladstein, Neandross & Associates are using a well-developed network of equipment manufacturers, technology providers, fuel suppliers, infrastructure developers, end-users and media to ensure that the HHP Summit 2012 is the largest and most engaging discussion on this topic anywhere.

Registration

Registering for the summit grants participants access to all sessions, tours, and catered events. Attendees will include equipment and operations managers, procurement specialists, maintenance directors, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, natural gas suppliers, infrastructure developers, engineers, academic researchers, funding program representatives, community members, environmental organizations, media representatives, and many others.

Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA) is working with key stakeholders to design an informative and comprehensive agenda for this event. Topics to be covered include:

  • Success stories from around the world where natural gas has and is being used in high horsepower applications in lieu of diesel fuel;
  • Assessments of economic, regulatory and environmental drivers for the growth of this market;
  • Analysis of the potential market size in North America; and
  • Details on the equipment, technology, fuel, and infrastructure currently available to support a transition to alternative fuels.

GNA offers a long history of producing successful events on cutting-edge topics and is working to develop a solid program agenda and comprehensive stakeholder and outreach lists for this summit. GNA is working side by side with industry heavyweights to prepare an agenda that represents the most detailed analysis of what has recently become the most important topic in energy and the domestic economy—how clean, abundant, natural gas can shape the future patterns of our energy use in a very broad and very significant way.

The organizers of HHP Summit 2012 invite interested parties to submit papers for consideration of speaking opportunities.

Paper Topics

The goal of the summit is to inspire increased use and implementation of natural gas as a preferred fuel in industries typically powered by traditional diesel fuel. The summit will provide attendees with a keen understanding of the many economic and environmental opportunities created by the use of alternative fuels and advanced technologies.

Interested parties should submit presentation abstracts within the following categories:
