Abengoa awarded the engineering and construction projects for two power transmission lines in Argentina
- The combined budget for the two projects is US$ 49 million.
Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B/P SM /NASDAQ: ABGB), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, has been awarded the engineering and construction projects for two new power transmission lines in Argentina totaling US$ 49 million.
The first of the projects is to construct a 38 km line in the province of Jujuy. Abengoa will also be responsible for constructing two transformer stations.
The company has also been awarded a second line that requires the construction of two substations in the province of Santa Cruz.
In both cases the company will also be responsible for obtaining the environmental licenses; supplying, assembling and testing the equipment; and commissioning the system. Work on the two projects is expected to begin at the end of 2015.
Abengoa has become the leading engineering and construction contractor for power transmission lines in Latin America, having constructed more than 25,000 km of lines and numerous substations.
