Axion Polymers introduces new high-CV alternative fuels

Bramhall, UK -- Axion Polymers has added two new Axfuel® High CV Polychip alternative fuels to its existing range of environmental Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) products that provide a consistent and sustainable energy solution with low carbon impact.

Suitable for use in the cement industry and energy-from-waste sectors, Axfuel® High CV Polychip Grades A and B are fully-processed, technically-separated and high CV fuels. Their particle size distribution makes them ‘free flowing’ for use in bulk storage, handling and transport systems supplying main burner fuel infeed in cement kilns and other similar combustion plants.

Derived from end-of-life automotive and electrical waste resource streams, both grades have very low moisture, chlorine and ash content. They are manufactured as part of Axion’s large-scale materials recycling system, which uses a unique separation and sorting process to extract a quality-controlled alternative fuel for use in energy generation and other thermal processes.

Axfuel® High CV Polychip Grade A has a higher calorific value with similar energy content to powdered petcoke fuel, while Grade B has a greater mix of other combustible materials, such as wood and rubber. Both are available in large loads.

Axion Polymers Director Keith Freegard comments: “In line with our principles of treating alternative fuels from waste as products, we ensure that they are of consistently high quality to meet the technically-demanding specifications of our end markets.

“Giving waste materials a ‘second life’ as an alternative high-energy feed is an attractive option for companies who want to demonstrate their environmental credentials. Full information and datasheets are available on our website and we are happy to supply samples to interested customers.”

Axion Polymers is part of the Axion Group that develops and operates innovative resource recovery and processing solutions for recycling waste materials.
