Eaton Showcases Solutions and Expertise for Power System Reliability, Efficiency and Safety at 2014 Energy Storage Association Conference
PITTSBURGH, PA -- Power management company Eaton today announced it is showcasing products and services designed to enhance power system reliability, efficiency and safety at the Energy Storage Association (ESA) 24th Annual Conference, from June 4-6 at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC. Visitors to Eaton booth #706 will have the opportunity to learn about Eaton’s energy storage solutions and turnkey engineering services for the utility market.
“Eaton’s energy storage solutions are designed to help utilities deliver high-quality power with an adaptable, secure and responsive infrastructure,” said Chris Thompson, business unit manager at Eaton. “Our technology enables customers to leverage a wider range of intermittent renewable energy resources – such as wind or solar – and enhance load shifting, ramp rate control and frequency regulation to improve grid stability and resiliency.”
At the conference, Eaton will showcase balance of system (BOS) power management solutions for energy storage applications, including the latest in direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) switchgear, integrated monitoring and metering technology, and utility-scale energy storage inverters and transformers.
The Eaton Power Xpert® energy storage grid-tied inverter is designed to increase electrical resiliency in utility-scale applications, and work seamlessly with a wide variety of battery chemistries to store and transmit power when needed. The robust inverter design also helps to provide precise power ramp rate control and frequency regulation to enhance the reliability of electrical power transmission and distribution.
The Power Xpert storage inverter is a central part of Eaton’s equipment portfolio for storage applications. When combined in package solutions with Eaton’s medium-voltage transformers, interconnection switchgear and plant controllers, customers can rapidly deploy compact solutions intended to meet a variety of grid ancillary service requirements.
Eaton has expanded its electrical business to provide utility customers with a broader portfolio of products and services. For the utility market, the combination of Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division and its Cooper Power Systems business provides one of the largest and most experienced teams of power system engineers in the industry. This strengthened expertise and portfolio of solutions are helping utility customers around the world enhance safety and leverage system intelligence to improve electrical efficiency and reliability.
