Electra Vehicles CEO Attends Automobili Estrema’s Fulminea Launch with EVE-Ai™ 360 Adaptive Controls
Collaborative Hypercar Project Showcases the Capabilities of Electric Vehicles with Multi-Chemistry Solid State and Capacitor Battery Pack Enabled by Electra’s AI Controls Algorithm
Turin, Italy -- Automobili Estrema, lead by CEO Gianfranco Pizzuto, publicly revealed the official prototype design for the Fulminea flagship electric hypercar model with Electra Vehicles’ CEO and Co-Founder Fabrizio Martini by their side. Electra Vehicles is one of nine partners on the cutting edge of electric vehicle technology working closely with Automobili Estrema to present the world’s first high performance electric hypercar with a multi-chemistry battery pack.
The Fulminea’s azure design was unveiled in the vaulted hall of the Museo dell’Automobile di Turino where Automobili Estrema’s CEO Gianfranco Pizzuto welcomed the project’s partners during a socially distanced press event. Fabrizio Martini, CEO and Co-Founder of Electra Vehicles, Inc., attended the event to introduce the vehicle and its groundbreaking battery technology to the world alongside Pizzuto. Martini described the launch as “A great atmosphere around the Fulminea vehicle, full of experts of the automotive sector from all over Europe and internationally.”
Electra has verified the specifications of the Fulminea battery pack using the company’s proprietary algorithms to ensure the cells, configuration, and powertrain are calibrated to the vehicle’s high performance needs. A battery pack for such an ambitious electric project can only be created using a multi-chemistry system that combines a solid state cell for high energy needs with ultracapacitors for instantaneous power demand and more efficient regenerative braking. The pack contains 100kWh of energy to power four electric motors with a total power of 1.5 megawatts, or 2040 horsepower, leading the way in electric vehicle performance metrics.
Electra’s
EVE-Ai™ 360 Adaptive Controls will be installed onboard the Fulminea to act as the brain for the hybrid battery pack that will unlock unseen performance in terms of range, lifetime, and safety. EVE-Ai 360° Adaptive Controls will intelligently distribute power demand between the solid-state batteries and ultracapacitors to maximize efficiency and performance, and will provide adaptive charging controls to extend the system life. To accommodate the unique preferences of each Fulminea owner, EVE-Ai creates custom controls for each driver, informed by vehicle and battery history, as well as road and traffic conditions.
Imecar Elektronik and
ABEE Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering will provide the vehicle’s cell packaging and solid state batteries and are working with Automobili Estrema to construct a gigafactory in Italy to meet production needs. Other notable project partners include
