German electrolyser manufacturer Enapter AG (ETR:H2O) has secured contracts to deliver a total of 5 MW of its anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolysers for two Hydrogen Valleys projects in Italy, marking its largest deal in Europe to date.

Enapter will provide four AEM multicore electrolysers with a combined capacity of 4 MW to Opificio Idrogeno Marche (OIM), a joint investment initiative by Renco and Pollarini Group. This order represents the company`s largest individual contract in Europe so far, according to a company press release.

The electrolysers will be utilized in one of the 52 state-supported Italian Hydrogen Valleys, specifically in the Marche region of eastern Italy. The project includes a hydrogen production facility powered by renewable energy and a refuelling station.

Additionally, Enapter has been contracted to supply a 1-MW electrolyser to FMC srl, an energy company based in Montefusco. The AEM Nexus system will support a solar-powered hydrogen production plant in the Pianodardine industrial zone of Avellino. The hydrogen output from this facility, one of six Hydrogen Valleys funded by the Campania Region, will be used for industrial applications.

Deliveries are expected to be completed by 2025. While specific financial details were not disclosed, Enapter noted that the contracts have a combined order value in the upper seven-figure euro range.

To date, the company has secured binding contracts for a total of 11.5 MW as part of the Italian government`s subsidized Hydrogen Valleys initiative.
