Energy Vault and Jupiter Power to Deploy Additional 100-MW Battery Storage System

Swiss energy storage leader Energy Vault Holdings Inc (NYSE:NRGV) has partnered with US-based Jupiter Power LLC to deploy a 100-MW/200-MWh battery energy storage system.

The upcoming facility will be situated at a Jupiter-owned site within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region, Energy Vault announced Wednesday. This new battery project follows the successful delivery of an initial 100-MW/200-MWh system to Jupiter Power in Texas last summer.

The second BESS installation will provide dispatchable capacity to strengthen ERCOT’s grid resilience. Construction is already in progress, with commissioning expected by the end of this summer.

Michael Geier, CTO of Jupiter Power, commented, “With over 2,500 MWh in operation or under construction, we’re thrilled to expand our collaboration with Energy Vault at this vital location and value their customized solutions.”

Energy Vault and Jupiter Power have been collaborating since 2022, having agreed on a supply chain equipment and services contract for 2.4 GWh of capacity. This capacity will be integrated and managed via Energy Vault’s hardware and software platform across Jupiter Power’s battery storage projects.
