Danish renewable energy developer Eurowind Energy A/S has acquired a 55-MW solar portfolio in Portugal, which is in the advanced stages of development by local firm Insun.

The acquisition includes 11 photovoltaic (PV) projects, each with a capacity of 5 MW, mainly grouped into clusters of 15 MW. These projects are situated in the Aveiro district and are anticipated to be ready for construction by the second quarter of 2025, as announced by Eurowind today.

Upon completion, these projects will generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 36,100 households annually.

Eurowind Energy is currently initiating a tender process to award a contract for the Balance of Plant (BoP) construction activities, which will encompass all civil, mechanical, and electrical works, as well as the grid interconnection lines.

In addition, the Danish company is progressing with a 1 GW pipeline of wind, solar, energy storage, and green hydrogen projects in Portugal.
