Dec. 4, 2025

GE Vernova Inc has won a repeat contract to supply turbines for Greenvolt Power’s second large-scale wind farm in Romania. The US-based manufacturer will provide, install, and commission 42 units of its 6.1 MW, 158-meter onshore turbines for the 250 MW Gurbanesti wind farm in Calarasi county. This order, confirmed in Q4 2025, follows a prior agreement for the 252 MW Ialomita wind farm, bringing Greenvolt’s total Romanian wind capacity to approximately 500 MW. Together, these projects will generate enough renewable electricity to power over 110,000 households and support Romania’s clean energy goals. Turbine deliveries are slated to begin in 2026. GE Vernova’s Chief Commercial Officer, Gilan Sabatier, emphasized the strong market demand for their reliable turbines across Romania and Europe.
