Launch of the IEA’s Energy Efficiency 2019 report on 4 November 2019
Source: International Energy Agency
The International Energy Agency will launch its annual market report on energy efficiency on Monday, 4 November, at 6:00 am Paris time.
Energy Efficiency 2019 is the IEA’s global tracker of energy efficiency trends, providing policy makers and other energy decision makers with crucial insights.
Energy efficiency has tremendous potential to spur economic growth, achieve cost savings for businesses, cut consumer energy bills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Since 2015, improvements in global energy intensity– an important indicator of how much energy the world uses – have been weakening. Energy Efficiency 2019 examines the reasons for this slowdown and its implications.
The new report also highlights how the digitalisation of our homes, businesses and transport systems provides immense opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
Reporters who would like to receive a copy of the report under embargo and/or speak with the report’s lead authors can email us at press@iea.org. Please note that the report is under embargo until 6:00 AM Paris time on Monday, 4 November.
The lead authors of the report will host a public webinar to highlight the key findings and answer questions, on Monday, 4 November, 2019 at 2:30 PM CET. Reporters who wish to register for this webinar can sign up below.
