Nordex to Supply KELAG`s 47.6-MW Wind Project in Austria.
German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has announced a significant new order in Austria, further solidifying its presence in the European renewable energy market. The contract, awarded by Austrian utility KELAG, involves the supply and installation of seven N163/6.X turbines for the upcoming 47.6-MW Lavamund wind park.
This key project, located in southern Austria near the borders of Styria and Slovenia, will feature advanced turbine technology tailored for the site`s specific conditions. Four turbines will be installed on 118-meter steel towers, while the remaining three will utilize hybrid towers to achieve a hub height of 164 meters, optimizing energy capture.
The comprehensive agreement also includes a 20-year premium service contract, ensuring the long-term performance and maintenance of the assets.
Construction and civil works for the Lavamund wind farm are scheduled to commence in late 2025, with the installation and final commissioning of the Nordex turbines slated for 2027. This project marks another win for Nordex in a successful month, following recent contracts to supply 33.6 MW in Germany and 70.8 MW in Portugal.
