
OSI Technology Selected for Large-scale Transmission Management System Replacement
November 9, 2016 -- Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been selected by a major U.S. transmission company to supply a state-of-the-art SCADA/Transmission Management System (SCADA/TMS). The company has preferred to remain anonymous until the project is completed.
The new SCADA system is based on OSI's monarch (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform, will replace the company's legacy transmission management system. The new technology provided by OSI is designed to enhance overall system performance, availability, and security while providing advanced transmission applications for enhanced operational performance.
The transmission company operates high-voltage transmission systems throughout the USA, serving a peak load in excess of 15,000 megawatts.
The new OSI platform includes OSI's.NET-based Graphical User Interface (GUI); Advanced Alarm Management System; Advanced Situational Awareness functionality; Data warehousing & Analytics; Real-time and Study Transmission Network Analysis and Optimization; Short-Term Load Forecasting; Switching Order Management; Equipment Outage Scheduler; and Advanced Transmission Operator Training Simulator.
