Spanish renewables firm Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente SA (BME:SLR) announced on Thursday its progress towards achieving 3,063 MW of installed solar power capacity by the end of 2025, as part of its broader 14.3-GW target for 2028.

Currently, Solaria operates 1,658 MW of installed solar capacity in Spain and is building an additional 1,405 MW, including its inaugural projects in Italy. This fully financed portfolio is expected to be connected to the grid throughout 2025, as outlined in Solaria’s presentation of future European projects.

Starting in 2026, Solaria plans to diversify its portfolio by incorporating wind power and battery energy storage, and expanding into Germany and Portugal.

The introduction of capacity payments in Spain from 2025 is anticipated to boost the development of battery storage solutions, which Solaria aims to integrate with its solar plants. Similarly, new regulations in Italy are expected to expedite the deployment of renewable energy, according to the company.

By 2028, Solaria`s projected 14.3 GW portfolio will mainly consist of solar power (80%), followed by wind power (14%) and battery storage (6%). Geographically, 60% of this capacity will be located in Spain, 22% in Italy, 12% in Germany, and 5% in Portugal.

Solaria’s long-term goal is to reach 18 GW by 2030
