As we transition away from natural gas and other fossil fuels, there is no question that we need to make better use of renewable energy in as sustainable a way as possible. Using our patented compression technology Essential battery, we have designed the Offgen, energy storage system that works with renewable technology to store clean energy as electricity.

While most systems require additional wall-mounted components for their installation, the Offgen is an all-in-one system. It is an electrical grade cabinet, which can be installed inside or outside which contains: lithium-ion batteries, hybrid inverter, communications interface and switchgear, making it compact and easy to install. The Offgen provides the flexibility to store and use energy from on-site PV or low-tariff grid energy.

Users can choose the appropriate capacity for their home, upgrading as their needs grow, with a capacity of 4kWh up to 11kWh within the same cabinet.

While the Offgen can easily be used off-grid, it is also designed to be connected to the grid, enabling a home to store excess clean energy either for its own use or for selling back onto the grid for use during peak demand periods. The system can then recharge from the grid during off-peak hours, capitalising on cheaper tariffs.

This setup creates a more flexible energy system, increasing the possibilities for renewable energy and helping to decarbonise the grid.

Your PV system is generating energy that is stored in the Offgen. You can use that energy during the day while your Offgen keeps on charging, or sell the excess energy to the grid if your energy storage system is fully topped up.
