BioCapital - Biomethane Gas

As a renewable gas, it helps to lessen emissions and, therefore, accelerates the reduction of greenhouse gasses (GHG). The use of biomethane is two-fold:

• As one of the few low-carbon alternatives to natural gas, it is a renewable source of heat and power for homes and businesses
• A green vehicle fuel that produces up to 95 per cent fewer C02 emissions than diesel

Some of our sites inject this fuel directly into the Gas grid decarbonising local homes and business. Plus our transport customers are utilising this fuel via our fuelling stations in the North East and N.Ireland.

In addition it can be used in mobile energy – as seen in Granville Energy Supply.

As biomethane is compatible with natural gas engines and appliances, it can often be ready to use with minimal disruption.
