CME - Rebuild of Power Station Mechanical Equipment
Edmunston energy's vertical Kaplan power station had a worn components and was out of alignment. The entire dam had settled and the unit was no longer plumb. CME documented dismantling under our specialists' experienced supervision. We determined that the cause of out of plumb was settling of the dam itself. We removed and serviced worn bearings, repaired shaft areas, did weld repair of cavitation damage on the Kaplan runner and we did precision dynamic balancing (significantly out of balance.) Finally, we applied a smooth ceramic coating on the shaft and runner which will resist corrosion , cavitation and wear.
