Heatray Solar - Compound Parabolic Concentrator (CPC) Solar Heating System
The Compound Parabolic Concentrator (CPC) Solar Heating System by Heatray Solar Pvt. Ltd. leverages CPC collectors equipped with ETC tubes to effectively harness solar energy for water heating. This system is designed for efficient solar energy capture with orientation options in North-South (1700 x 150 mm collectors) and East-West (1700 x 140 mm collectors). Optimal solar installation can generate up to 5.5Kwh/m2 of energy in India, achieving significant energy savings and cost reductions. For example, heating 10,000 liters of water to 60°C requires around 140 square meters of solar installation area. The system offers long-term returns on investment, capable of delivering heated water even on partially sunny days if the storage is well-insulated. Its utilization is ideal in open ground, slanted roofs, flat roofs, and elevated structures. Despite requiring significant initial setup space and capital expenditure, its low operational costs and clean renewable energy source make it a sustainable solution. Performance is contingent on direct sunlight availability, with notable efficiency drops during rainy or foggy conditions.

The compound parabolic reflector is constructed by using segments of two parabolas. These parabolas are arranged in such a way that the focus of both coincides at same line. Because of the Specific shape of the surface, all the incoming rays are reflected and concentrated on absorber/ receiver tube. The receiver tube is placed on the focal band. The fluid inside is heated up due to concentrating solar irradiation thus received by the surface of the tube. Receiving concentrated radiation on small area helps achieve higher temperature faster.
