Compressed Natural Gas (Cng) Cylinders

SHARE
Developed to meet or exceed the requirements for shuttle busses, refuse trucks, fleet vehicles, commuter vehicles, luggage handlers, vehicles with under-chassis integration, and customized enclosed-space applications, these compact and lightweight cylinders provide exceptional performance. Steelhead Composites offers both Type III (metallic) and Type IV (polymeric) to customers with varying needs depending upon number of expected cycles, frequency of refilling, length of storage interval, and other individual requirements. Their robust construction using seamless aluminum or polymeric liners, epoxy-impregnated composite materials, and proprietary large-mouth openings ensure superior impact resistance and thoroughly reliable performance. In addition, our cylinders offer maximum fill capacity under fast fill conditions.

SUPERIOR STORAGE

Most complete fast-fill and negligible permeation

HIGH LIFE CYCLE

Fill and empty repeatedly with no concern of liner collapse

SAFE

Benign leak-before-burst feature eliminates the possibility of catastrophic failure during operation

Steelhead Composites lightweight 11 inches (280 mm) diameter 3,600 psi (250 bar) CNG cylinders ranging in water volume of 30 to 140 Liters. Available in Type III (metallic liner) and Type IV (polymeric liner), these CNG cylinders are fully overwrapped composite pressure vessels (COPVs) with a 1? inches (28.6 mm) diameter port opening on each end.

One port of the CNG cylinder is fitted with a solenoid valve that integrates a thermally activated pressure relief device. Because of their robust construction, Steelhead Composites’ CNG cylinders can be counted on for being safe, gas-tight, robust, and tough against impact and abuse.
