AquaMS - Dissolved Carbon Dioxyde Measurement Submersible Probe
Dissolved carbon dioxide measurement in water is one of the most important parameter in fish farming and industry. Until now, the sampling method led to many drawbacks: Sampling imprecision, measure influenced by other elements acting on the pH… Moreover, a direct-reading sensor is necessary to allow the control of other parameters in water that have an influence on this measurement, such as the temperature and the atmospheric pressure.
An optical sensor is placed inside a measuring chamber of which walls are pervious to CO2. Liquids, solids and other gas cannot get through the membrane. Once the probe immerged, CO2 partial pressure between the external and internal volume of the chamber and the controlled water is equalized. This CO2 partial pressure determination have to be made along with both measurements of water temperature and air partial pressure for the CO2 concentration calculation. Sampling is not necessary and this delete then the inaccuracies caused by sampling which sway the quality of the swab.
