The Agrovoltaico® is a particular type of agrophotovoltaic (APV) ttechnology developped by REM Tec. It allows even an increase of agricultural yield, thanks to the shadows generated by the PV modules. Agriculture and energy production are reached following agricultural product quality criteria. The studies made in cooperation with the University of Piacenza, the works done by Fraunhofer Institute and the experience got on the field
since 2011, allowed to reach an optimal knowledge of the PV shadowing effect on the agricultural yield. While on some crops the Agrovoltaico® system does not involves any significant yield difference, on some others it improves the production. The studies showed a yield increase of 4.3% for maize.
