EMB - Buchholz Gas Sampler and Tester for Electrical Equipment
The Buchholz gas sampler and testers from Elektromotoren und Gerätebau Barleben GmbH are designed to facilitate the sampling and analysis of gases that form in oil-filled electrical equipment. These gases are typically a result of the natural aging process of oil or may occur more frequently due to equipment faults. In cases where severe faults occur, gases rise in the oil and are captured by the Buchholz relay. The Buchholz gas sampler allows for easy collection of these gases, which can then be analyzed directly at the equipment site using models BGT 4.1 and BGT 4.2 from the Buchholz gas tester series. These devices are integral to maintaining the safety and operational integrity of transformers by enabling early detection of faults through gas analysis.
The Buchholz gas sampler provides a safe method of taking and transporting gas samples from the Buchholz relay or the gas sampling device.
The the assay is hermeticall sealed from the ambient-air by the integrated back-pressure valve. The gas can be kept for up to 5 days in the sampler without exhibiting any impermissible changes in its composition.
Insulation liquid entry into the sampler will be prevented by the oil trap included in the scope of supply.
The sampler has a useful volume of 100 ml. For analysis directly on site with the Buchholz gas tester BGT only 65 ml of the failure gas are needed. The gas remaining can be used for detailed laboratory testing if needed.
